Hello NWS Duluth Spotter,
Spring is right around the corner, and that means it's time for Skywarn Spotter Classes! This spring we are offering over 20 classes across the Northland, including in-person and virtual options, and we hope you can make it out to a class!
This year we have a challenge for you: We are asking every spotter to bring a friend! Whether it's a cousin, friend, coworker, or just an acquaintance, we want your help growing our network of volunteer spotters by bringing along someone else who you think would enjoy the class and be a great spotter! (*Bonus points if you can bring someone who lives in a rural area - these are the places we need spotters the most!!)
Attached to this email you'll find a flyer with the schedule of classes - we encourage you to share this flyer with your friends, family and community. Post it on your social media, in your community's Facebook Group, on a coffee shop bulletin board, email it to your coworkers, etc! Visit
https://www.weather.gov/dlh/skywarn to see the full details for each class, including the times and locations for in-person classes and links to register for our virtual classes. Additional classes may yet be added, too. As a reminder, current spotters are asked to attend a class at least every 3-4 years to remain current, but we encourage you to attend annually if able!
Update or Unsubscribe: If you have recently moved, changed phone numbers, would like to update your contact information, or simply are no longer interested in being a spotter for our office, please fill out this form:
